The Ickle Pickles Children’s Charity has launched a new fundraiser to provide life-saving equipment for tiny patients in neonatal care.

The countdown to Ickle Pickles’ first virtual balloon race has started and balloons will be released at 9 am on the 24th of March 2024. The environmentally friendly race will last seven days when balloons can be watched flying across the world. Thanks to sponsor Langmead Group, there are some amazing cash prizes to be won:

  • First prize £100
  • Second prize £50
  • Third prize £25

Buy your balloon for £3 and personalise it with colours, patterns and text. You can also alter flight parameters to suit predicted real-weather conditions and the whole family can follow the progress of each balloon on the leaderboard.

A heartfelt thanks to Langmead Group for sponsoring this virtual balloon race. The Langmead Group is a collection of fresh food, farming and property businesses operating across the world. All their work is underpinned by a strong set of values.

Together, we strive to give every newborn a chance.

The Ickle Pickles is the only charity that raises funds to donate intensive and special-care equipment to neonatal units across England and Wales and is funded entirely by voluntary contributions from organisations and individuals.

Join Ickle Pickles to raise money in a uniquely fun way for premature and sick babies and support this race in whatever way you can. Please consider sharing our flyer with friends and family.

Ickle Pickles’ Fundraiser Becky Sims said: “There are over 90,000 babies who are born prematurely or sick every year in the UK. We want to do everything we can to support hospitals and families to give every newborn a chance of survival. By taking part in our Easter balloon race, you donate vital funds to neonatal units where they’re needed most. Buy a digital balloon and see if yours can win £100!”
