A Story of Hope and Gratitude

Sidney's journey began unexpectedly when he arrived at just 26 weeks and 3 days. In a whirlwind of events, his mother found herself in full-blown labour, and Sidney was born far earlier than expected at Poole Hospital. Sidney was resuscitated and intubated, and then he was being transferred by the Southampton & Oxford Neonatal Transfer Service to Southampton’s Neonatal Unit.

Despite various challenges, Sidney's family was met with unwavering support from dedicated doctors, nurses, and medical teams during their 89-day stay in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit).

On Christmas Eve, six days before Sidney's due date, the family celebrated their first Christmas at home, a dream come true. Thanks to the incredible care received, Sidney is now a thriving, smiling little boy.

• £22 Donation: Equivalent to the cost of an average 4-mile cab ride, this donation can provide a wellbeing bundle for parents in the NICU. The bundle includes a water bottle and a pair of Cuski baby comforters, bringing a touch of solace during a difficult time.
• £110 Donation: Did you know the average family spends at least £110 on chocolate each year? By donating this amount, you and five others can fund a Sound Ear to protect premature babies from unnecessary noise, ensuring a peaceful environment for their recovery.

Every donation, regardless of size, plays a crucial role in supporting life-saving equipment and care, giving each newborn the best possible start in life.
