Raising vital funds for Barnet’s neonatal unit
Category

Fundraising Challenge

Three mountains, 40 kilometres, and one incredible mission — a fearless team of neonatal nurses from Barnet Starlight neonatal unit have accomplished the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge!

Their awe-inspiring journey not only tested their endurance but also showcased their unwavering commitment to raising funds for their neonatal unit. As proud Ickle Pickles Pledge Partners, these extraordinary nurses have taken on this challenge to support the tiniest patients and their families during their NICU journey.

A Journey with a Purpose

This wasn’t just about conquering peaks; it was about making a difference. The challenge was a gruelling 12-hour trek over three formidable peaks, but they were fueled by a great cause: their neonatal unit, which lovingly cares for babies from 27 weeks of gestation. Their efforts have already raised over £10,000, but you can still help and donate to one of the participants here. Every donation goes towards lifesaving neonatal intensive care equipment that supports families during some of the most challenging times.

A Community of Care

Starlight unit is dedicated to providing family-integrated care, and the neonatal staff understand that the journey through the neonatal intensive care unit can be an emotional ride, with babies staying from a few days to several months. This is why they strive to offer not only medical care but also support for the families who endure this journey with their little ones.

The funds raised from this challenge will help Starlight to support parents and families through these difficult times.

Thank You for Your Support

We are unbelievably proud of our 3 Peaks Team, Becky, Kate, Cherry, Katie, Susanna, Aleena, Nancy, Tia, Naomi, Chloe, Claire, Jordanne, Kath, Jen, Mandy, Kennady and Joe. What they achieved was hard, but they did it for all the premature and sick babies that need our help. Together, we are determined to improve neonatal care and to give every newborn a chance.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this appeal. Your generosity makes a big difference in the lives of these little ones and their families.
