Participants will undertake an extraordinary experience by walking barefoot across hot embers. This event includes comprehensive training and a mandatory briefing session with fellow participants, referred to as “Firewalkers.”
All Firewalkers are required to attend the mandatory briefing on the evening of the event. Participation in the firewalk is contingent upon attendance at this session. No prior mental or physical training is necessary for participation.
Participants must adhere to a strict policy of total abstinence from alcohol and drugs both prior to and during the event. Participants are required to ensure that their feet are clean and free from oils, lotions, or pedicure products prior to the event.
The funds raised through sponsorship will support the collaborative efforts of the Ickle Pickles Children’s Charity and Croydon Health Charity. All funds raised (excluding the costs of running the event) will benefit the Neonatal Unit of Croydon University Hospital or the neonatal unit specified on the fundraising page. Participants are encouraged to ask supporters to Gift Aid their donations to maximise the impact of their contributions.
The event will be held outdoors at Croydon Wanderers Rugby Football Club, 135 Addington Road, West Wickham, BR4 9BF. Participants should dress appropriately for winter weather conditions.
Limited parking is available at the venue.
By registering for the 2026 Firewalk, participants confirm that they are medically fit to participate. The organisers, sponsors, and any assisting personnel are not liable for any injury, illness, loss, or damage to participants or their property incurred during or as a result of the event. This includes any damage caused by participants to the property of others. The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry at their discretion.
Photos and videos taken during the event may be used by the Ickle Pickles Children’s Charity and Croydon Health Charity for promotional purposes. Participants who do not wish for their images to be used should contact events@icklepickles.org.
While the organisers accept no responsibility for injuries, a first aider will be present on-site during the event. In the event of a medical emergency, participants’ personal details will be shared with the event’s medical providers.
Participants will receive updates regarding the event and fundraising activities from the Ickle Pickles Children’s Charity and Croydon Health Charity. It is essential that participants download and review all pertinent information leading up to the event to ensure their safety.
To take part, you will need to pay a non-refundable registration fee and pledge to raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship.
