Barnet Hospital
We have recently started working with the lovely team at the Starlight Neonatal Unit.
We are delighted to be working with the wonderful & dedicated Neonatal team at the hospital and would encourage anyone interested in raising funds through us for this neonatal unit to get in touch and discuss how you can get involved - the feeling of having made a tangible difference is simply incredible and very rewarding!
Current Appeals:
The team have requested x2 Medela Symphony Breast Pumps for use by Mums to express at home. This allows for a hospital grade pump to be used at home to help ease the pressure of expressing when the Mum is not close to her baby.
The team have also requested help with the redecorating of their 10 Rooming in rooms to make them more family friendly and welcoming. This will include home comforts, soft furnishings and a welcoming environment - that's where we come in!
The Starlight neonatal unit is on level 2 of Barnet Hospital, next to the antenatal clinic and opposite Galaxy ward and the children’s outpatient department.
The Starlight unit was the first UK neonatal unit to provide 10 individualised care rooms for family centred developmental care where parents can stay throughout the neonatal journey. This allows parents to learn valuable skills and knowledge while being supported by trained staff to confidently care for their baby.
Level 2 Unit: For babies born from 27 weeks’ onwards.
Number of cots: 30
Babies treated per annum: Up to 500
